Kajaani Market Street

Market street is traditionally organized 6.7. around Kajaani Runoviikko and Eino Leino’ s birthday. In 2025, Market street will be held on 2.-5. of July.

Reservation of Sales spot:

  • Reservations for sales spots begin on Tue, April 1st at 8 am.

Market Street Sales spot

  • Sales spot are reserved in the City of Kajaani Online Store. The Sales spot reservation remains in the shopping cart for one hour and the Sales spot must be paid for at the time of reservation.

  • Sales spot Guidelines:

    • One sales spot per vendor.
    • The organizer reserves the right to make changes to the sales spot.
    • Notification of cancellation of a paid sales spot must be made 14 days before the start of Market Street. Payments are non-refundable.
    • The sales spots must be ready each morning before Market Street opens.
    • Items in the stalls are the vendor’s responsibility.
    • Vendors must ensure they have the necessary sales permits.
    • The dismantling of sales spots and removal of goods can only begin after the daily closing times. The street will function as a pedestrian street throughout the event.
    • Vendors must ensure that trash is disposed of in the designated waste containers at the street intersections. Odorous liquids must not be poured into the public street drains.
    • Vendors are expected to be present on all four (4) sales days.

    Safety Guidelines:

    • A base map with emergency access routes has been created for Market Street.
    • Vendors must label their stalls with name signs. Signs help in case of emergency situations.
    • When constructing sales stalls, extra weights should be used due to strong winds.
    • Electrical appliances must be CE-marked and suitable for outdoor use. Vendors are responsible for the condition and functionality of the electrical devices and cables they use.
    • The gas cylinders in use are 11, 6, or 5 kg in size. Gas cylinders should not be stored in the sales stalls.
    • If gas cylinders are stored in cars, attention should be paid to car ventilation during hot weather. The cylinder surface temperature must not exceed +40°C. There is no designated storage location for gas cylinders. Additional gas cylinders can be purchased from local vendors.
    • Flammable liquids/fuels must be stored in appropriate fuel containers. Backup fuels should not be stored in the sales stall. Vendors must have a 6 kg fire extinguisher at their sales area.

    Other Safety Measures and Arrangements:

    • There will be a first aid station at Market Street, and the street areas will have daily security personnel.
    • Security will be provided by Securitas Oy with patrols 5 times per night.
    • The Kajaani City INFO stall will serve as the Market Street information point.

  • The price for 4 days at the Raatihuone Square and Market Street Sales spots is €112 and the price for a site with electricity is €122. The prices include 25.5% VAT.

    The Market Square is not available during Market Street.

  • Vendors are required to bring their own canopies, weights, tables, chairs, and other necessary materials for the sales spot.

    Sales spot are freely available for various product sales. There are no electricity spots in the area.

    Sales spot locations 29 – 67 Koivukoskenkatu – Kirkkokatu area
    Sales spot are freely available for various product sales. There are no electricity spots in the area.

    Sales spot locations 69 – 79, S58 – S99, Kirkkokatu – Raatihuoneentorin area
    Electrical Sales spots are marked with the letter S. Electrical points are reserved primarily for food and beverage vendors’ sales products.
