The City will organise free school transport if the distance to school is:
- more than 3 kilometres for a pupil in class 0–2
- more than 5 kilometres for a pupil in class 3–9
and for a child in pre-primary education or early childhood education and care when the child has been allocated a place of care by the City and the place of pre-primary education or early childhood education and care is more than 3 kilometres away. The City organises free school transport without kilometre limits for pupils receiving education at a school for children and young people with intellectual disabilities.
A pupil’s daily commute to and from school, including waiting time, must not take longer than two and a half hours (2.5 h). For pupils who have turned 13 by the beginning of the school year, the commute must not take longer than three hours (3 h).
